Chicago Fire Department responded to a 2-11 alarm on March 30th. High winds returned on that day, quickly turning a small grass fire into a massive inferno. Embers from the blaze ignited large piles of paper waiting to be recycled at a facility located at 48th and Christiana.

Firefighters worked for hours to contain the flames, which were fanned by strong gusts of wind. The incident serves as a reminder of how quickly a small fire can escalate under adverse weather conditions. Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors due to heavy smoke, and local authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire.
