A193 B8 B8m Stud Bolt with Heavy Hex Nut
Originally approved in 1936, this specification is widely used in the petroleum and chemical industries. A193/A193M (A194/A194M) covers both inch and metric series products. The ASTM standard includes alloy steel and stainless steel bolting materials for high-temperature or high-pressure service. This specification is designed for use in pressure vessels, valves, flanges, and fittings. Although these materials are often available with national coarse (UNC) thread pitches, for traditional applications, threads are specified at 8 threads per inch (TPI) for diameters above one inch.
