House fire in Buffalo Grove, 8-25-22

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, just after 6 p.m., firefighters from Buffalo Grove and Long Grove were dispatched to 2112 Brandywyn Lane following reports of a burning smell and visible smoke. Upon arrival, Buffalo Grove Engine 27 upgraded the incident to a "Working Fire" after confirming the presence of light smoke. Firefighters entered the home, which was filled with heavy smoke, and quickly discovered an active fire. Shortly after, they reported a hole on the first floor, suggesting the fire may have originated in the basement. The responding units at the scene included Buffalo Grove Tower 25, Engines 26 and 27, Ambulances 25 and 26, Battalion 4, 408, and 401. Additional support came from Long Grove Squad 55 and Battalion 55, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Squad 51, Ambulance 51, and Battalion 51, as well as Mundelein Ambulance 432, Prospect Heights Squad 9, Elk Grove Village Tower 8, and Buffalo Grove MobileComm. The coordinated effort highlights the importance of mutual aid in handling such emergencies.
