House fire in Lyons, 5-27-16

On May 27, 2016, a working fire occurred at a bungalow located at 4236 Leland Avenue. The first engine company arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the attic. Two hoselines were deployed, and the roof was opened by Riverside Truck 1629. During the search, some birds were safely rescued, and it appeared that the fire was primarily confined to the attic. The response from all the companies on scene was excellent, and they handled the situation professionally and efficiently.
