On Tuesday, Shaun McCabe from my 17th District office joined Chief Michael Schofield of the Orland Fire Protection District as they officially handed over a recently retired ambulance to the Robbins Fire Department.
This kind of intergovernmental collaboration is exactly what our region needs more of. When one fire department can support another—especially those with limited budgets—by donating vehicles and equipment, it sets a great example for others to follow. It’s not just about sharing resources; it's about building stronger, more resilient communities together. The Robbins Fire Department will surely benefit greatly from this generous donation, and we should all be inspired by Orland FPD’s commitment to helping their neighbors in need.
