The former tower ladder from Calumet Park Fire Department is about to be put into service with the Story County Fire Department, located northeast of Carson City, Nevada. I remember hearing earlier that it might have been purchased by an oil company, so I'm not entirely sure how this all connects. However, the tower is currently being repainted in the department's official colors—blue with a white stripe—by Fire Trucks Unlimited.Here’s a link where you can follow the progress of the restoration. It’s always interesting to see how older equipment finds new life in different departments. This one had a long history in Illinois before making the move across the country. It’s great to see it getting a fresh start with Story County. If you're interested in following along, the link provided gives a good sense of what’s happening behind the scenes.
