On December 31, 2007, Yunnan Tianteng Chemical Co., Ltd. officially commenced construction on an 80,000-ton-per-year high-tower compound fertilizer project in Chuxiong Prefecture, Yunnan Province. As the largest producer of high-tower compound fertilizers in Southwest China, this facility marks a major milestone for the company and the region's agricultural industry.
Yunnan Tianteng Chemical Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between Yunnan Yuntianhua Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Batian Ecological Engineering Co., Ltd. The company focuses on producing specialized high-tower and drum-type compound fertilizers. It utilizes advanced high-tower technology developed by Batata Company in Shenzhen, making it the first such facility in Yunnan and the largest in the Southwest region.
According to reports, Tianteng Chemical plans to leverage the Yuzhong (Chuxiong) market and expand into Longxi, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, benefiting from its strategic geographical location. Under Yuntianhua’s overall plan, the first phase will include a 300,000-ton/year high-tower compound fertilizer line and a 150,000-ton/year drum fertilizer production unit, with an expected output value of 1.5 billion yuan. A second phase will further expand to 300,000 tons/year of high-tower and 50,000 tons/year of drum compound fertilizer, aiming for an output value of 3 billion yuan. The first phase is scheduled to be operational by August 2008.
Zhang Jiaqing, chairman of Yunnan Yuntianhua Co., Ltd., emphasized that the high-tower compound fertilizer industry holds great potential during Yunnan’s economic restructuring. He noted that the 800,000-ton annual capacity project in Chuxiong represents a significant step forward in Yuntianhua Group’s industrial strategy, which emphasizes core fertilizer operations while exploring diversified growth opportunities. This development underscores the company’s long-term vision and commitment to sustainable agricultural growth in the region.
