In 2007, the Jianghan Oilfield made significant progress in advancing standardization efforts, achieving impressive outcomes. The oilfield successfully developed and revised a number of industry standards for the oil and gas sector as well as first-tier enterprise standards for Sinopec. According to official statistics, the oil field completed the formulation and revision of seven oil and gas industry standards last year, an increase of six compared to previous years. Additionally, eight first-tier enterprise standards for petrochemicals were finalized, marking an increase of six. The oil field also completed 47 internal enterprise standards at the bureau level, with eight revisions, showing a notable year-on-year growth. The completion rate for all standard development and revision projects reached 100%, reflecting strong execution and commitment.
To ensure the quality of standard development and the professional competence of those involved, relevant departments within Jianghan Oil Field Co., Ltd. organized training sessions for standard writers. These included participation in group-organized training programs on upstream enterprise standards, as well as internal training courses led by experts from the Provincial Institute of Standardization. To further strengthen the process, various units established dedicated drafting teams, clearly defining key drafters and project supervisors. This rigorous approach ensured strict oversight throughout the entire revision process. A total of 12 standard development and revision projects passed the initial review by both the oil industry and Sinopec, receiving high praise from higher authorities for their quality and accuracy.
In addition, the Jianghan Oilfield enhanced its supervision and enforcement of standard implementation. It promptly distributed key standard documents such as drilling fluid specifications, oil production guidelines, fracturing chemical standards, and drilling geological design rules issued by Sinopec in 2007 to all relevant units, meeting urgent operational needs. The oilfield also purchased 6 volumes of national standards and 27 revised versions, along with several industry standard texts, ensuring the validity and completeness of its standard database. To promote the implementation of 40 key standards established in 2007, the oilfield’s professional standardization committees conducted targeted training sessions, enabling timely adoption of new industry and corporate standards across exploration, development, and production units. Through continuous monitoring and inspections, these standards played a crucial role in improving operational efficiency and safety across the company.
To ensure that the LSAW steel pipes produced by the steel pipe plant met international standards, personnel from the Oilfield Technical Supervision Department and other relevant departments visited the plant multiple times to provide on-site guidance on operational plans and conduct verification checks on assessment items. The steel pipe factory used this opportunity to enhance its standardization management, expand and improve the plant's standardization committee, establish a comprehensive corporate standard system, and revise over 200 existing standards. The factory strictly followed standard technical requirements during production, effectively controlling product quality throughout the process. Through coordinated efforts between different levels of the organization, the company successfully passed the on-site evaluation and acceptance conducted by the "Baoji" assessment team from Hubei Province.
