Tianrun's three major technological transformations

Since the beginning of this year, Tianrun Crankshaft Co., Ltd. has actively implemented the policies set by the Wendeng Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government aimed at accelerating the growth of key enterprises. The company has seized the golden opportunity during China's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, focusing on production operations, structural adjustments, institutional innovation, R&D efforts, construction investment, and capital management. By intensifying reforms and deepening the execution of three major technological transformation projects—such as the expansion and disconnection link production project—the company has laid a solid foundation to compete in the international market and maintain its leading position within China. Currently, the civil works for these projects are in full progress and are expected to be completed by the end of November. Equipment installation and commissioning will be fully carried out by the end of this year and early next year. The total investment for these three projects amounts to approximately 900 million yuan. Among them, the light truck crankshaft production line is planned to consist of four new lines, with a total capacity of 400,000 units, requiring an investment of 349.57 million yuan. This project primarily serves Beijing Futian Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. The heavy-duty crankshaft processing line, which will have an annual output of 60,000 units, is scheduled for completion in 2008, with a total investment of 155.35 million yuan, mainly supporting engine companies like Dongfeng Cummins and Xi'an Cummins, supplying heavy trucks, long-distance luxury buses, and double-heavy trucks. Additionally, the company has introduced a new process for manufacturing connecting rods used in domestic truck engines, a segment where no local suppliers can yet produce at scale. Currently, only foreign companies such as Krupp and Mahler dominate the market. Tianrun’s project fills this domestic gap, primarily supporting Cummins Inc. It plans to build four new production lines with an annual capacity of 5 million units, implemented in two phases: the first phase ending in 2008 and the second in 2010, with a total investment of 38.38 million yuan. To ensure the smooth and rapid implementation of the projects, Tianrun quickly initiated a construction boom in the newly developed area east of Zhangzhang Road. All three project sites were built simultaneously, with weekly engineering coordination meetings held to monitor progress. The Infrastructure Division established a dedicated team to manage and coordinate civil engineering work, with many projects operating around the clock. At the same time, the company set up a technical reform department to begin selecting equipment. So far, it has signed equipment import contracts with manufacturers from Germany, the United States, the UK, Canada, as well as domestic suppliers from Shenyang and Dalian, with over 80% of the equipment already secured. Currently, the main structure of the joint factory building for the expansion and disconnection link production project is complete, and steel structure construction is ongoing. It is expected to be finished by September 5, with ground and two-span construction scheduled for completion by October 15. The basic project for the heavy truck project was completed on August 20, and steel section construction is now underway.
