Tianrun's three major technological transformations

Since the start of this year, Tianrun Crankshaft Co., Ltd. has been actively implementing the policies set by the Wendeng Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government aimed at accelerating the growth of key enterprises. The company has taken full advantage of the golden opportunity in the Chinese auto parts industry during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period. Focusing on areas such as production operations, structural adjustments, institutional innovation, R&D, construction investment, and capital management, the company has intensified its reforms and advanced three major technological transformation projects, including the expansion and disconnection link production project. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for the company to compete globally and maintain its leading position within China. Currently, the civil works for the project are in full swing and are expected to be completed by the end of November. Equipment installation and commissioning will be carried out throughout the remainder of this year and into early next year. The total investment in these three projects amounts to approximately 900 million yuan. Among them, the light truck crankshaft production line is planned to consist of four new lines with a combined annual capacity of 400,000 units. This project, which requires an investment of 349.57 million yuan, is primarily intended to serve Beijing Futian Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. The heavy-duty crankshaft processing line, designed to produce 60,000 units annually, was completed in 2008 with a total investment of 155.35 million yuan. It mainly supports engine companies like Dongfeng Cummins and Xi'an Cummins, supplying parts for heavy trucks, long-haul luxury buses, and double-heavy-duty passenger cars. Additionally, the connecting rod production project for domestic truck engines introduces a new process that currently lacks domestic suppliers capable of mass production. Only foreign companies like Krupp and Mahler have dominated the market. Tianrun’s project fills this gap, primarily supporting Cummins Inc. with four new production lines, each having an annual capacity of 5 million units. The first phase is scheduled to conclude in 2008, with the second phase finishing in 2010, totaling an investment of 38.38 million yuan. To ensure the smooth and rapid implementation of the projects, once the plans were finalized, Tianrun quickly launched a construction boom in the newly developed plant area on the east side of Zhangzhang Road. All three project sites were constructed simultaneously, with weekly engineering coordination meetings held to monitor progress. The Infrastructure Division established a dedicated team to manage the civil engineering work, with many projects operating around the clock. At the same time, the company formed a technical reform department to begin selecting equipment. So far, the company has signed import contracts with manufacturers from Germany, the U.S., the UK, Canada, and domestic firms in Shenyang and Dalian, with over 80% of the equipment already secured. Currently, the main structure of the joint factory building for the expansion and disconnection link production project is complete, and steel structure construction is underway. It is expected to be finished by September 5th, with ground and two-span construction scheduled to be completed by October 15th. The foundation work for the heavy truck project was completed on August 20th, and steel section construction is now in progress.
